Access 256 Column Limitations

Modified on Sun, 26 Jul at 3:46 AM

Overview

Beginning with QQube 6.1, several Financial Summary data models were expanded beyond Microsoft Access's 256-column limit.

QQube provides alternative Microsoft Access FACT views that contain selected subsets of the original fields. These alternatives preserve the primary reporting functionality while remaining within the Access column limit.

Alternative FACT View Naming

  • FACT views ending in _MA are Microsoft Access replacements created for the 256-column limit.
  • FACT views ending in _MA_57 remain backward compatible with QQube 5.7.

Changes Introduced in QQube Version 10

QQube Version 10 added traditional Financial Summary data models that are aggregated by day and support custom calculations, including actual-to-date calculations.

Because users create the calculations they need, these models avoid the 256-column limitation.
