Overview
Excel PivotTables include an Expand/Collapse feature that provides drill-down behavior similar to a dashboard.
You can begin with summarized information, such as a list of jobs or items, and then expand selected groups to view additional detail.
Expand and Collapse Symbols
- A silver + indicates that the item is collapsed and additional detail is available.
- A silver - indicates that the item is expanded and its detail is currently displayed.

Expand or Collapse PivotTable Detail
Right-click any cell in the applicable row or column field and select the required Expand/Collapse command.
Current Item
Expand or collapse only the item containing the active cell.
Entire Field
Expand or collapse all items in the selected PivotTable field.
Multiple Hierarchy Levels
