Getting Started with Excel

Overview

QQube includes more than 30 data models, with one or more Microsoft Excel examples for each model.

The examples are available from the QQube Configuration Tool.

Two Ways to Create an Excel Report

Start with a Prepared Example

Open a prepared Excel workbook from the Examples section of the QQube Configuration Tool.

Start from Scratch

Use the Select Assistant from the QQube Excel Add-In to create a new report.

QQube retrieves QuickBooks information into Excel as either a dynamic range or a PivotTable.

Review How QQube Interacts with Excel for additional information.

Start with an Excel Example

Open the QQube Configuration Tool and select Microsoft Excel under Examples.

The available Excel report examples appear in the list. At least one example is provided for each data model.

Grayed-Out Examples

A grayed-out example means the required data model has not been selected or synchronized. Review the data selection and synchronization guide.

Open and Use an Example

1. Confirm Successful Synchronization

Review the synchronization logs.

Confirm that the required data model loaded successfully and contains no synchronization errors.

2. Open the Excel Example

Double-click the required example in the QQube Configuration Tool.

For example, double-clicking sales_(qqube_10.x).xlsx opens the prepared Sales workbook.

3. Review the Workbook Instructions

The workbook cover explains how to:

  • Use the Select Assistant to add fields to the PivotTable.
  • Place fields in the correct PivotTable areas.
  • Construct and customize the report.

Review How PivotTables Work for additional guidance.

4. Review the Prepared Report Tabs

Each workbook contains prepared report tabs that demonstrate how the QQube data can be analyzed.

The following example shows the Fill Rate tab in the Sales workbook.

Expected Result

The Excel example opens with its QQube data source, report structure, PivotTable layout, and sample analysis already configured.

You can use the existing report as a starting point or add fields with the QQube Select Assistant.
