Pivot Table Show/Hide Options

Overview

Three PivotTable display options are available from the PivotTable Tools > Analyze ribbon:

  • Field List
  • +/- Buttons
  • Field Headers

Show or Hide PivotTable Elements

Field List

The Field List displays the available fields and the four PivotTable areas.

For the Field List to appear:

  1. Click anywhere inside the PivotTable report area.
  2. Confirm that the Field List button is selected on the Analyze ribbon.

If the active cell is outside the PivotTable, the Field List may not be displayed.

+/- Buttons

Use +/- Buttons to show or hide the expand-and-collapse controls beside grouped row or column labels.

Field Headers

Use Field Headers to show or hide the row and column header controls in the PivotTable.

Expected Result

Use these three options to control whether the PivotTable Fields pane, expand-and-collapse buttons, and field headers are visible while designing or presenting the report.
