Overview
The QQube Excel Add-In provides three default behaviors for workbooks that contain QQube data connections.
These settings determine what happens when the workbook is opened.
These Are Global Options
The selected refresh behavior applies globally to QQube-enabled Excel workbooks, rather than to only the current worksheet or workbook.
Option 1: Prompt Before Refreshing
Default Behavior
When a QQube-enabled workbook is opened, Excel prompts the user to decide whether the connected data should be refreshed.
Workbook with One Connected Worksheet
When only one worksheet is connected to QQube, the refresh prompt applies to that connection.

Workbook with Multiple Connected Worksheets
When multiple worksheets contain QQube connections, the prompt provides refresh choices for the connected workbook content.

Option 2: Refresh Automatically
No User Prompt
All QQube connections in the workbook refresh automatically when the workbook is opened.
Option 3: Do Not Refresh When Opening
Refresh Manually
No refresh prompt appears when the workbook is opened. The existing data remains visible until the user starts a manual refresh.

Choose the Appropriate Refresh Behavior
| Option | Use When |
|---|---|
| Prompt Before Refreshing | The user should decide whether to refresh each time the workbook is opened. |
| Refresh Automatically | The workbook should always open with current QQube data without requiring user action. |
| Do Not Refresh When Opening | The workbook should open immediately with its saved data and be refreshed manually when needed. |
Expected Result
The selected global option controls whether QQube-enabled workbooks prompt for a refresh, refresh automatically, or wait for a manual refresh when opened.
