Overview
There are two options for synching data
- Automatic Scheduling. This is the preferred method for both multi-user versions of QQube, or using the multi-company add-on. You can automate both time and days. For most operations, once a day is sufficient. Make sure there are no backups of any kind scheduled at the same time.
- On-Demand (Manual Refresh). This is the best option for single-user versions of QQube, or needing to see your data changes immediately. On a workstation or laptop, the automatic scheduling may not work because you may forget to leave your machine on, or forget to logout of single-user mode, etc.
The Scheduled sync uses what is checked in the main Available Data Models, and not what is checked in the manual refresh area.
Automatic Scheduler
The "Clear all data on synch start" option indicated above, is designed primarily for cases where accounts or customers are being merged on a somewhat regular basis. When accounts or customers are merged, it requires a complete reload of the data.
Automatic Scheduler - Advanced Options
Automatic Scheduler - Company Options
- This option is helpful if you have an older company file that you are no longer using, but want to have the data available.
- Used in multi-company situations where you want to clear some files from scratch every time - but not others.
NOTE: These settings are only for Scheduled Synchs - NOT Manual synchs.
Manual Refresh
If you have a multi-user version of QQube, you can use this option on your QQube Configuration Tool to control the synch that takes place under the dedicated synch server user. It works, just as if you were on the server doing a synch.
If you are using this option on the desktop for a single-user version of QQube, remember that the currently logged in QuickBooks user will control/supersede the permissions between it and QQube.
Manual Refresh - Load from Scratch
If you get an abnormal synch interruption, perform a manual abort, or are directed by our support team to 'clear the data and reload from scratch', check the "Run all", then the "Clear all data on synch start", before performing the next manual synch.
