Overview

Templates in QuickBooks are generally used for forms and printing forms, or discerning stages in the sales process. They are used in the following transactions:

  • Invoices
  • Sales Receipts
  • Credit Memos
  • Estimates
  • Sales Orders
  • Purchase Orders


Use Templates in the Sales data models to Categorize certain types of sales.


Use Templates in the Job Cost Details to separate Original Estimates and Change Orders (caveat: you can't create a negative Estimate/Change Order).
