Overview
The Extraction Start Date and As Of Dates determine which records QQube extracts. Calendar Dimension Ranges determine which dates can appear in reports, filters, and date hierarchies.
This setting controls
The range of calendar dates available for reporting and analysis.
Most QQube data models include calendar fields that support date filtering, grouping, and hierarchies. The calendar range must cover every transaction date that QQube extracts.
Key requirement
Your calendar range must begin on or before the earliest extracted date and end on or after the latest extracted date.
Set the calendar range
Use the Calendar Dimension settings in the QQube Configuration Tool to define the years available to your reports and visualizations.
What happens when the range is too narrow
If QQube extracts a transaction date that falls outside the configured calendar range, that date cannot be matched to the calendar dimension. It will appear as an unknown date, such as xx/xx/1980.
Recommended range
Keep the calendar range broad enough to cover all extracted data, but avoid adding years that are not needed. A focused range helps keep reports and visualizations efficient and easier to manage.
During the initial Configuration Wizard, QQube sets the calendar range automatically using:
- The earliest year found in the QuickBooks company file.
- Two years beyond the latest year found in the QuickBooks company file.
Expected result
All extracted transaction dates should match valid calendar dates and remain available for filtering, grouping, and reporting.
