Getting Started with Tableau

Overview

The QQube Configuration Tool includes more than 20 Tableau examples, with at least one example for each QQube data model.

Each example is already prepared for reporting:

Relationships are already created.
Field names are renamed for easier recognition.
Measures use the correct formatting and default aggregations.
Hierarchies for items, classes, and accounts are included.
Unnecessary technical fields, such as linking fields, are hidden.
No manual QQube data-source configuration is required.

After the required data model is loaded successfully, double-click the Tableau example you want to use. The data should refresh automatically when the example opens.

Start with a Tableau Example

Open the QQube Configuration Tool and select Tableau under Examples.

The available Tableau examples appear in the list. At least one example is provided for each data model.

Grayed-Out Examples

A grayed-out example means the required data model is not loaded or has a synchronization error. Review the synchronization log guide before opening the example.

Open and Use an Example

1. Confirm Successful Synchronization

Review the synchronization logs and confirm that the required data model loaded successfully.

2. Open the Tableau Example

Double-click the required example in the QQube Configuration Tool.

For example, double-clicking time_tracking_(qqube10.x).twb opens the prepared Time Tracking workbook.

3. Allow the Data to Refresh

The example should connect to QQube and refresh automatically.

No manual QQube connection is required. The relationships, dimensions, measures, formatting, and hidden technical fields are already configured.

Understanding the Prepared Data Model

Each QQube data model is complete for its business subject. You do not need to connect one QQube data model to another.

The relationships in the Tableau example are already arranged according to the QQube data warehouse structure.

Expected Result

The selected Tableau example opens with its QQube relationships, dimensions, measures, formatting, and hierarchies already configured. After the automatic refresh completes, the workbook is ready for analysis and customization.
