Data Model Selections

Overview

QQube uses the Wizard to load the most applicable data models for your operation, but you can choose to load more - or less - depending upon what you need to use.

One data model is not dependent upon another, and you should load only the data models you need to minimize synch times and save hard drive space.

Each data model is designed to be wholly complete unto itself.

For instance:

  • The inventory data model already contains sales, purchasing, and general ledger information.
  • If you need just financial summary reports, you wouldn't run general ledger detail.
  • The 52/53 tax year profit and loss data model is designed for businesses filing taxes based upon that calendar.

The main reason for being stingy on what you choose, is because of the limitations in the technology given to us by Intuit to extract data.  There is no direct connection to the QuickBooks database - for any developer, even "raw connectors" who take the Intuit SDK data extraction and makes it look like tables.

Replaced Data Models That Can be Still Loaded

In Version 10, the following four data models from Version 7.x have been replaced by more powerful - and efficient loading - data models.

  • Profit and Loss by Job is replaced by "Flexible and Loss by Job (Flexible Period)" under Jobs, Time and Mileage.
  • Profit and Loss by Job by Class is replaced by "Flexible and Loss by Job by Class (Flexible Period)" under Jobs, Time and Mileage.
  • Profit and Loss Freestyle is replaced by "Profit and Loss (Flexible Period" under Financial Statements.
  • Profit and Loss by Class Freestyle is replaced by "Profit and Loss by Class (Flexible Period" under Financial Statements by Class.

You can still load these if you don't wish to take advantage of the replaced models.
